  • Used results from the screening  and design matrix, as well as subjective opinions, to decide that the water dispenser was the optimal idea to pursue

  • Proposed the idea of a semicircular straw mechanism that would sit behind the client’s backrest and swivel out of a track to sit in front of their mouth in a preliminary design review

  • Created a revised prototype based on the feedback from the first design review

  • Reconfigured the motor mechanism to a more simplistic system

  • Discussed logistics of the high fidelity prototype and steps to take moving forward

  • Proposed the idea of a ¼-circle straw mechanism that would sit behind the client’s headrest and rotate over their head to sit in front of their mouth in a second design review

  • Decided that a moving straw may not be the best potential solution

  • Discussed ideas for a robotic lever system that will lift a cup to the user’s face instead of a straw and separate water supply

 

April 1st, 2019

  • Worked in the design studio

  • Started working on the motor, the product design specification, and started a CAD for the cup holder design

  • Redesigned the cup holder and the projecting arm that would attach to the motor

  • Revised the support mechanism from a plate to a sliding pipe to a clamp
